The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided to allocate additional funds to prepare Kyiv for the upcoming heating season. Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko confirmed that the capital will receive an additional 2 billion hryvnias. These funds will become a key tool in ensuring uninterrupted heating supply and protecting critical infrastructure.
Funding within the Resilience Plan
The government aims to fully implement the Capital Resilience Plan. The allocated funds are intended to help local authorities properly prepare for winter conditions. The main focus is on protecting key energy facilities from potential threats, as well as on measures that minimize the risk of heating supply disruptions for city residents.
Energy System Security Strategy
It was previously reported that the Cabinet of Ministers had already allocated 3 billion hryvnias from the state budget reserve fund for the emergency setup of additional heat sources. With these funds, it is planned to purchase and install 216 modular boilers. This measure is necessary to ensure stable heating supply for residential buildings amid ongoing attacks on energy infrastructure.
Fund Distribution
As part of the overall support program, the budget is distributed as follows:
- 966 million hryvnias will be directed to the Recovery Agency to implement projects directly in Kyiv.
- Another more than 2 billion hryvnias will be received by regions within the framework of implementing their own Resilience Plans.
Thus, the government's comprehensive approach is aimed at creating a reliable reserve of thermal energy both in the capital and in other regions of the country.
