Residents of Kyiv now have the opportunity to resolve issues regarding transferring their children to other educational institutions without leaving home. A new digital service has launched on the City Services Portal, which fully automates the process of submitting an application to transfer a child to another school.
According to the press service of the Kyiv City State Administration (Kyiv City Council), the innovation aims to spare parents the need to personally visit schools to complete paper documentation. Now, the entire process can be carried out remotely via a single online platform.
Quality standard for a modern city
Valentyn Mondryevskyi, Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration, emphasized that transferring educational services to a digital format is part of the strategy to improve convenience for citizens. In his words, online transfers between schools are no longer just an additional option but a necessary standard of service quality for a modern metropolis.
"We are consistently transferring educational services to a digital format to make them as convenient as possible for parents," Mondryevskyi noted.
How the new service works
To use the "Transfer a child to a new school" service on the Portal, several simple steps must be completed. The system allows parents to select the desired class type and form of education, if such options are available at the chosen educational institution. This approach makes it possible to take into account the child's individual needs and the family's wishes.
However, to complete the transfer procedure, confirmation from the new school is required. The administration of the educational institution must confirm the possibility of enrolling the child, provided there are available places.
Important limitations
Despite the convenience of the service, parents must take into account a number of limitations. The service is available exclusively for municipal schools of the capital — the system does not work for private educational institutions.
Furthermore, the service functions only for schools that have officially opened enrollment for "transferring students and withdrawing them." This means that the possibility of remote transfer depends on the readiness of a specific school to accept new students in the current academic year.
