The night of July 6 became one of the most tragic for Kyiv in recent times. Russian occupiers launched a massified strike on the capital of Ukraine, using ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as drones. As a result of the attack, which covered several districts of the city, nine people were killed, and another 43 were injured.
Destruction in the Pechersk District
Rescuers and city authorities focused particular attention on the Pechersk district, where a residential building was partially destroyed. According to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, 15 people were evacuated from the building. Among those saved were three women and six children who were evacuated from the upper floors.
The situation in the building remains tense: the destruction affected apartments on both sides of the building. Rescuers from the State Emergency Service (SES) continue to search for possible victims under the rubble. Two injured people have already been hospitalized, but their condition requires constant medical monitoring.
Fire in the Holosiivskyi District
Parallel to the events in Pechersk, a fire broke out in a five-story building in the Holosiivskyi district. Information about the fire was received from the Kyiv City Emergency Management Department. The causes of the fire and possible links to the missile strike are still being clarified.
Scale of the Attack
On the night of July 6, Russia launched Kalibr cruise missiles and missiles from strategic aviation. The attack was directed at key infrastructure objects and residential areas of Kyiv. Destruction, fires, and falling debris were recorded in two districts of the city.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had previously warned that Russia was preparing a massified strike on the country ahead of the NATO summit. Unfortunately, these words were confirmed by the events of the past night.

Head of the Kyiv Military Administration Tymur Tkachenko confirmed that the number of dead reached nine people. He also noted that work to eliminate the consequences continues. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko called on residents to remain calm and follow the instructions of rescuers.
