Andriy Sybiga, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, commented on the massive drone attack on Moscow that took place on the morning of June 18. In his post on the social network X, he directly linked the events in the Russian capital to the start of the full-scale aggression against Ukraine.

Answering the question "What is happening?"

According to the diplomat, one of the most frequent questions being asked by Moscow residents at this moment is: "What is happening?". Sybiga offered his answer to this question, pointing to the historical context of the conflict.

"I can answer. Your country started an aggressive war against ours. For many years, it has been killing our people," the minister stated.

After the Muscovites learned the reason for what was happening, Sybiga advised them to ask Russian leader Vladimir Putin: when he plans to put an end to this conflict.

Events in Moscow

On June 18, the Russian capital was subjected to a large-scale drone attack. Explosions were heard in various districts of the city, and fires broke out. The media paid special attention to the incident in the Kapotnya district, where one of the drones hit an oil refinery. As a result of the strike, at least two fuel tanks caught fire.

The situation in the city was critical: thick smoke hung over Moscow, and Russian authorities reported the operation of air defense systems. Due to the threat of new strikes, flight restrictions were temporarily introduced at Moscow airports.

Economic consequences and Kyiv's position

The massive drone attack on Moscow triggered an immediate reaction on Russia's financial markets. The stock index reacted with a sharp decline. The greatest losses were suffered by the shares of major energy companies: Gazprom, Rosneft, and Lukoil significantly dropped in price.

At the same time, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made a statement about the need to end hostilities as soon as possible. He emphasized that Ukraine remains ready to establish peace and a ceasefire.
