Many Ukrainians ask: does having a land share affect the receipt of a housing subsidy? The Pension Fund of Ukraine has provided a clear explanation of in which cases income from a share is taken into account when calculating state assistance, and in which cases it is not.
Income from a share — a key factor
When assigning a housing subsidy, the total income of the household is taken into account. If the land share generates income — for example, through rent — this income is included in the calculation. It is precisely this that can affect the amount or even the possibility of receiving a subsidy.
Rent in kind — also income
If a land share is rented out, and the rent is paid not in money but in kind (for example, grain, harvest), the tenant is obliged to indicate the monetary equivalent of such payment in the tax report. This data is automatically transmitted to the Pension Fund through the electronic exchange system with the State Tax Service.
Share without income — does not affect the subsidy
Important: if the land share does not bring any income to the household — neither monetary nor in kind — its presence does not affect either the assignment or the amount of the housing subsidy. This was directly emphasized by the PFU.
How to apply for a subsidy: not automatic for everyone
Previously, RBK-Ukraine reported how to quickly and easily apply for a housing subsidy online without leaving home. However, it is important to remember: not all citizens are assigned a subsidy automatically. Some need to personally contact the Pension Fund to clarify data or submit an application.
Changes in water tariffs — also matter
It is worth noting separately: changes in tariffs for utility services, including water, can also affect the calculation of the subsidy. Therefore, when payment conditions for utilities change, it is recommended to recheck the validity of your data in the PFU system.
