The night of June 5 to June 6 became a time of large-scale provocations and drone attacks for Russia. As a result of strikes on Russian territory, fires broke out at critical infrastructure facilities, including oil depots and port terminals. The situation in several regions remains tense, while authorities continue to report on the operation of air defense systems.

Explosions and Fires in Krasnodar Krai

One of the central events of the night was a fire in the territory of one of the cities in Krasnodar Krai. The threat of drone use in the region was announced during the night hours. Local residents of the city of Ust-Labinsk received warnings about the order of actions in the event of an attack.

Shortly after 4 a.m., footage began to spread on social media showing a powerful fire. According to OSINT channels, the target of the strike was the Poltava oil depot. This is an active facility for the storage and transshipment of oil products, with a reserve capacity of about 15 thousand cubic meters. The depot supplies fuel to both road and rail transport.

Situation in Leningrad Region and Moscow

Drone attacks were also recorded in the northwest of the country. In the Leningrad Region, residents complained about drone activity, but there was no information about the actual consequences of the strikes yet. Local authorities reported that the air defense allegedly shot down 25 unmanned aerial vehicles.

In Moscow, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported on the work of defense systems throughout the night. According to him, the Russian air defense successfully shoots down drones attempting to penetrate the airspace of the capital.

Strikes on Occupied Territories

Unknown drones also carried out a raid on the territory of temporarily occupied Mariupol. Preliminarily, the strike hit the port complex. Thick black smoke was recorded at the scene of the incident, indicating a fire or damage to infrastructure.

Impact on the Fuel Market

These events are taking place against the backdrop of a general decline in the activity of the Russian oil refining industry. At the end of May, Reuters reported that almost all major refineries in central Russia had completely stopped or significantly reduced fuel production. The reason was large-scale attacks by Ukrainian drones on energy infrastructure.

It is also worth noting that on the night of June 3, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck ships and infrastructure facilities in the port of Kronstadt in the Leningrad Region, which confirms the systematic nature of strikes on the enemy's logistics hubs.
