New rules for military registration have come into force for 17-year-old citizens in Ukraine. The country's Ministry of Defense has given residents a final chance to complete this mandatory procedure remotely, without leaving home. From August 1, this service will be closed, and everyone wishing to register will have to visit the Territorial Recruitment and Mobilization Centers (TRMC) in person.

Digitalization of military registration: how it works

According to information published by RBC-Ukraine citing the Ministry of Defense, the department is actively promoting the digitalization of administrative processes. Online registration is designed to save citizens from the need to collect paper certificates and stand in queues at government institutions. The entire process now takes just a few minutes and requires only a smartphone.

To use the service, the user must follow a simple algorithm of actions:

  • Download the "Reserve+" app or update it to the latest version in the app store.
  • Press the "Register" button in the program interface.
  • Wait for the system to automatically process the request.

After the procedure is successfully completed, a unique "Reserve+ ID" with the status "Conscript" will appear in the user's personal account. This confirms that the citizen has officially been registered.

Important nuances and purpose of the document

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine emphasizes a key point that often causes misunderstanding: military registration does not mean immediate conscription into military service. This is an administrative procedure that records the citizen's status in the system.

The obtained military registration document has practical significance in everyday life. It may be required in various life situations, such as:

  • Enrollment in higher or secondary specialized educational institutions.
  • Employment at new workplaces.
  • Issuance of various state documents.
  • Receiving state services in electronic form.

Changes in deferment rules

Along with updating the rules for registering conscripts, the Ukrainian government has reviewed the regulations for deferring employees of critically important enterprises. Companies whose activities are recognized as important for the functioning of the state must confirm their status by August 10.

For organizations whose industry or regional criticality criteria have not changed, a simplified confirmation procedure is provided. Employers only need to provide a certificate of the average salary of employees for the last month and the corresponding tax calculation. This will allow them to retain a staff of qualified specialists without the need for their mobilization.
