Alexander Krasyuk, former promoter and General Director of K2 Promotions, who was part of Oleksandr Usyk's team for 12 years, commented on the decision of the undisputed world champion to vacate all his belts. According to the executive, the outstanding boxer has already achieved the impossible and no longer needs to prove anything in professional sports.

The History Must Remain Great

In an exclusive comment to RBK-Ukraine, Krasyuk emphasized that Usyk has entered world history as a great champion, and he must remain exactly that. The executive noted that the athlete has reached extraordinary heights, and his further career should not jeopardize this status.

"Usyk is a great champion. He must remain so in world history. He has achieved extraordinary heights in boxing and has nothing more to prove," stated Alexander Krasyuk.

Hopak as the Final Period

The former promoter paid special attention to Usyk's famous final dance. Krasyuk believes that the hopak, with which everything began, should also be the final point in the boxer's story. "And the 'last dance' should be a hopak. It started with it – let it end with it," he noted.

The Path from Debut to the Top

Oleksandr Usyk's path to undisputed championship began on November 9, 2013. At the Kyiv Palace of Sports, he made his debut on the pro ring, defeating Mexican Felipe Romero.

Key stages of his career:

  • In 2018, Usyk won the Boxing Super Series, defeating Murat Gassiev in Moscow.
  • In the autumn of the same year, he became the undisputed world champion in the cruiserweight division by beating Briton Tony Bellew.
  • In 2021, at the "Tottenham Hotspur" stadium in London, the Ukrainian defeated Anthony Joshua, becoming the undisputed world champion in the heavyweight division.

Later, Usyk not only defended his status but also fought Tyson Fury and Daniel Dubois twice each, remaining undefeated.

The Last Fight and the WBC Decision

Usyk's last fight to date took place on May 23 against Dutchman Rico Verhoeven. In this bout, the Ukrainian won by technical knockout in the 11th round. This was his 25th victory on the professional ring.

Earlier, it was reported that the WBC prohibited Usyk from holding a rematch with Rico Verhoeven. In response to the situation, the undisputed world champion released a video address in which he announced the vacating of all his belts.
