Sharp Reaction to Unprecedented Attack
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov made a resonant comment in response to the large-scale drone attack by Ukraine on Moscow, which occurred on the night of June 18. This event became the largest strike on the Russian capital since the start of the full-scale war. During the incident, more than 180 drones were launched towards Moscow, leading to serious consequences, including a repeat strike on the Moscow Refinery in Kapotnya.
At least five fire outbreaks occurred at the facility, and key equipment was damaged. Against this backdrop, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry stated that diplomatic methods and "retaliatory words" are no longer a sufficient reaction to Kyiv's actions.
New Tactics: Regular Group Strikes
Lavrov directly promised that Russia would move to delivering "massive group strikes on a regular basis." The priority for the Russian armed forces will be targets directly affecting the combat readiness of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). The Minister emphasized that this task was personally assigned by Supreme Commander-in-Chief Vladimir Putin and will be carried out in strict accordance with the indicated vector.
Thus, Moscow is signaling a transition to a tougher phase of the conflict, reacting to the escalation by the Ukrainian side. The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry left no doubt that Russian military forces will continue to implement the set objectives, striking infrastructure that ensures the functioning of the AFU.
