LEGO has officially confirmed plans to release its largest set in history. The new flagship product will be a detailed replica of the famous Sagrada Família (Holy Family) cathedral in Barcelona. This ambitious project, which will be a true challenge for builders, consists of 12,060 pieces.

A New Brand Record

The release of the new set is timed to coincide with a significant date — the 100th anniversary of the death of Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí, which will be commemorated on June 10, 2026. Thus, the miniature version of the masterpiece from the Danish manufacturer will go on sale before the official completion of the original building in Barcelona.

The model will surpass the piece count of the brand's previous record-holders — the LEGO Eiffel Tower (10,001 pieces) and the LEGO Art World Map (11,695 pieces). The dimensions of the finished structure are impressive: it will stand 62 centimeters tall.

Detail and Architecture

The creators of the set have paid special attention to reproducing Gaudí's unique style. The model features intricately detailed neo-Gothic and organic forms that have become the architect's signature. The set includes the cathedral's three main facades: the Nativity, the Passion, and the Glory, as well as the famous spindle-shaped towers.

The appearance of the assembled set from various angles demonstrates the complexity and beauty of the future model. Every element is designed to convey the spirit of the original structure, which has become a symbol of Barcelona.

The History of the Original Construction

The original cathedral in Barcelona has been under construction for 144 years — since 1882. In May 2026, the temple's construction board officially announced that the full completion of construction work, including the erection of the central 172-meter-high Tower of Jesus Christ, is scheduled for 2034. The LEGO version of the cathedral will serve as a unique reminder of the grandeur of this architectural project.
