LEGO has officially announced and opened pre-orders for a new collectible set recreating the iconic helmet of three-time Formula 1 World Champion Ayrton Senna. This is reported by Sport RBC.UA, citing the company's Instagram post. The new release went on sale in early September at a price of €89.99 and became the first helmet in the LEGO F1 line dedicated to a legendary past driver rather than a current championship racer.

Record size in the LEGO F1 series

The model is the largest helmet in the LEGO F1 series. It consists of 931 pieces, exceeding the piece count of previous sets dedicated to Charles Leclerc, Lewis Hamilton, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. As a result, the assembled model measures 19 cm in height, 13 cm in width and 13 cm in depth, making it a striking display piece for a showcase or desk.

Retro design of the 1988 season

The set is rendered in the signature yellow, green and blue colour scheme of the Brazilian flag and recreates the look of the 1988 season helmet. Almost all elements, including the rear and lower sections, are produced using direct printing. The helmet features retro BOSS branding and the rare Nacional bank logo, while in place of Marlboro branding the recognisable red-and-white block is retained, underscoring the authenticity of the historical design.

Minifigure and display plaque

The set includes a Senna minifigure in an unzipped suit with a Senninha character print on the T-shirt, as well as a separate cap and a miniature helmet. The model comes with a special display plaque bearing the legend's signature and a reference to his first title in 1988, turning the set into a full-fledged exhibit for collectors.

Senna's helmet is the first in the F1 series to be dedicated not to a current championship racer but to a legendary past driver.
