The career of one of the best strikers of modern times is entering a new phase. Robert Lewandowski, whose name has become synonymous with goal-scoring in European football, is preparing for his debut in the American MLS. Before moving to the USA, the star completed his final training sessions in his homeland, Poland.

Final Preparations in Warsaw

The official Instagram page of Warsaw's Legia published a series of photos capturing the Polish forward working with the ball. The training took place at the Legia Training Center. This visit allowed Robert to maintain his fitness before flying to Chicago.

In the club's statement, they noted the special atmosphere in the training center during the last few days: "In the last few days at Legia Training Center, we hosted Robert Lewandowski, who is preparing for a new stage of his career with Chicago Fire. Robert, we wish you success in the next stage of your career".

Official Transfer and Chicago Fire's Ambitions

The transfer became official on June 29, one day before Lewandowski's contract with Barcelona expired. The agreement with the American club runs until the end of the 2027/28 season. At Chicago Fire, this transfer is called a strategically important step for the development of the team.

Gregg Berhalter, the club's Director of Football and Head Coach, spoke about the significance of this acquisition for the city and the team: "We have set ourselves the goal of building a world-class club that will inspire and unite Chicago, as well as compete for titles. Robert embodies these values. His arrival confirms our ambitions to win trophies and raises the club's standards to a level that this city deserves".

The Striker's Unique Legacy

The 37-year-old forward has already entered the history of Polish football as the top scorer of the national team — 89 goals in 167 matches. His club career is also impressive: he has played for Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich, and FC Barcelona.

Robert's achievements include a Champions League title, ten German championship titles, the UEFA Golden Boot, and two FIFA The Best awards (2020, 2021). Now, all these achievements will serve as a foundation for a new chapter in American football.
