Liverpool is in the final stages of completing the transfer of 23-year-old PSG winger Bradley Barcola. According to Sport RBC.UA, citing an insider statement by Fabrizio Romano on the social network X, the key negotiations between the two clubs' management have concluded successfully, and the transfer itself is already considered a foregone conclusion. Reports of the imminent closing of the deal are also confirmed by The Athletic and a number of other European outlets, indicating a high level of readiness for the move.

Payment structure and initial demands

According to available information, the total cost of the Frenchman's transfer, including bonuses, will amount to around 115 million British pounds. Transfer negotiations over Barcola had been ongoing since the end of May: initially, the Parisians were asking for around 170 million euros for their talent, but after several months of dialogue they agreed to a compromise and somewhat lowered their financial demands. It was precisely this reduction that allowed the parties to settle on a final figure which, according to insiders, includes a substantial package of variable bonuses.

Competition from Arsenal

The London-based Arsenal, along with a number of other leading European clubs, were interested in the French winger's services. Nevertheless, Bradley himself insisted exclusively on a move to Liverpool, which in the end determined the outcome of the transfer race. For Arsenal and other suitors, the deal served as confirmation that in the battle for top wingers, the decisive factor is often the player's own will, rather than just the financial offers.

Contradictory data

There is a discrepancy in the final deal amount across open sources. The Sport RBC.UA article cites a valuation of 115 million British pounds including bonuses, while the headline of the Ukrainian version of the same outlet points to 130 million euros. Meanwhile, KP.ru and Sport-Express (citing The Athletic) name a figure of 140 million euros, and TASS emphasises that the transfer will set a record for the French league. Notably, 115 million pounds at the current exchange rate is roughly equivalent to 135–140 million euros, which makes the 140 million euro and 115 million pound versions effectively consistent, while the 130 million euro variant is an outlier. The exact payment structure and final figure have not yet been officially disclosed by the parties, so the discrepancy in the numbers remains.

Statistics and contribution to PSG

Bradley Barcola joined PSG in 2023. Since then he has made 152 appearances for the Parisians across all competitions, with 39 goals and 37 assists to his name. In the France national team shirt, the winger has played 28 matches, scoring six goals. Such figures make him one of the club's most productive attacking players and explain the buzz surrounding him on the transfer market, as well as the interest from top Premier League clubs.
