Ivan Franko Lviv National University has officially approved tuition fees for the 2026/2027 academic year for applicants entering full-time bachelor's programs. According to RBC-Ukraine, citing university data, the cost of educational services has increased significantly — averaging nearly 30% compared to last year.
Most Expensive Majors
Tuition costs vary depending on the field of study. The most expensive programs are in the fields of IT, law, and international relations. Specifically, the highest rates have been set for the following majors:
- Cybersecurity
- Software Engineering
- Computer Science
- Law
- International Relations
- English Philology
Studying in these fields will cost applicants 86,700 UAH per year. This is 20,000 UAH more than in the previous academic year.
Budget-Friendly Options
At the same time, the university offers more affordable programs. The minimum tuition threshold is set for majors related to natural sciences, pedagogy, and humanities. These include:
- Biology, Chemistry, Physics
- Ecology and Geology
- Library Science
- Secondary Education Programs (Mathematics, History, Geography, Music Arts)
The minimum tuition cost for these majors is 51,400 UAH per year. For comparison: last year, similar programs cost 39,700 UAH — an increase of about 29%.
What Applicants Need to Know
The university emphasizes that the stated rates apply exclusively to full-time study. Applicants are advised to take these changes into account when planning their educational path and financial budget.
It is worth noting that in 2026, the vast majority of applicants to Ukrainian universities will submit applications only in electronic form. To do this, you must create a personal account in the ZNO system and prepare a package of documents. This year, applicants can submit up to 10 applications, five of which can be for state-funded places.
Earlier reports indicated that tuition fees for the "Medicine" major in Ukraine vary significantly depending on the university and region: in 2025, they ranged from 34,000 to almost 90,000 UAH per year.
