Ukrainian high jump has once again become a notable phenomenon on the world stage: in the updated world rankings, three representatives of the country — Yaryna Mahuchikh, Yulia Levchenko and Iryna Herashchenko — hold high positions, which will determine the participants of the 2027 Absolute World Championships. As of now, Yaryna Mahuchikh holds the second spot in the world rankings with 1375 points. Yulia Levchenko is in third place with 1334 points, while Iryna Herashchenko, who scored 1255 points, has settled into seventh position. Notably, the last time three Ukrainian high jumpers were simultaneously in the world top 10 was in September 2025, which underscores the stability and depth of the Ukrainian school in this discipline over more than a year.
The Path to the 2027 Absolute World Championships
The world rankings take on special significance on the eve of the 2027 Absolute World Championships, which will be held in Budapest. Based on their results, the eight best athletes will be selected for the tournament.
