Significant personnel changes have occurred in the leadership of the Kyiv Patrol Police. Major Yehor Holubov has been appointed to lead the department in the capital, a career inextricably linked to service in the front-line zone. This new appointment is a response to the complex challenges the service has faced recently.
From Donetsk Oblast to Kyiv
Yehor Holubov is a veteran of the patrol service who began his career in 2016 in the Donetsk region. Over the years, he has completed a full career path: from a regular patrol officer to a battalion commander. In recent years, the major has commanded the patrol police battalion in the cities of Kramatorsk and Slovyansk, where service conditions required maximum focus and decisiveness.
It was precisely this experience of working in front-line conditions that became the key factor in the selection of the candidate. The department leadership emphasized that Holubov has proven his readiness to act in the most difficult circumstances and to fulfill priority strategic tasks.
Solemn presentation
The new head was personally presented to the personnel by the Deputy Head of the National Police, Oleksandr Fatsevych, and the First Deputy Head of the Patrol Police Department, Oleksiy Biloshytskyi. This underscores the importance of the appointment and the trust in the new commander from the top law enforcement leadership.
Context of the appointment
Yehor Holubov is replacing Yaroslav Kurbakov, who has headed the Kyiv Patrol Police since 2023. The previous head left his post following tragic events in the Holosiiv district of the capital. Then, as a result of a terrorist attack carried out by a man with a machine gun, seven people were killed.
The situation received wide resonance due to the actions of police officers who arrived at the scene. Instead of neutralizing the shooter, the law enforcement officers, upon hearing the shots, left the scene. Later, they were informed of suspicion, which became the reason for a serious review of personnel policy in the department.
The appointment of Yehor Holubov is perceived as a step towards restoring trust and improving the efficiency of the patrol police in conditions of increased security threats.
