In the evening of July 8, a large-scale conflict erupted in Sykhiv, one of the largest districts of Lviv, leading to the blocking of vehicles belonging to the Territorial Recruitment Center (TCC) and serious incidents involving law enforcement agencies. According to local Telegram channels, the clash occurred during an attempt by TCC employees to notify a man who had violated military registration rules.
Chronology of events: from document checks to overturning a car
According to official data from the Lviv Regional TCC and Military Administration, the incident escalated around 21:30 on Stryiska Street. Recruitment center employees, together with the police, were conducting notification activities. During the check of military registration documents, it was revealed that a man born in 1996 had violated military registration rules and has been under investigation since June 12, 2026.
After identifying the violator, he was taken to the TCC for further medical examination. However, another group of military personnel remaining at the scene of the operation found themselves blocked by a crowd of unknown individuals. According to the agency, the gathered crowd acted aggressively: they damaged the official vehicle and then overturned it. Police officers were present on site attempting to restore order.
Government reaction: investigation and calls for calm
Maxym Kozitsky, Head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, held an urgent meeting with law enforcement agencies. He emphasized that the main task is to ensure public order and identify all individuals who committed offenses or obstructed the activities of military personnel.
"There is no place for lawlessness in the Lviv region," Kozitsky stated. At the same time, he announced an internal investigation regarding the lawfulness of the actions of his military personnel during the notification of the citizen born in 1996, who, according to him, was under investigation.
Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi also reacted to the situation, stating that he is clarifying all the circumstances of what happened. "Regarding the situation in Sykhiv, I am currently clarifying all the circumstances. I will report as soon as I receive full and verified information. For now, I ask everyone to remain calm, be wise, and not forget who our real enemy is!" he wrote on his social media.
Official TCC position: provocations and external influence
The Lviv Regional TCC and Military Administration emphasized that all circumstances of the incident will be legally assessed, and the guilty parties will be held accountable in accordance with the law. The agency called on citizens not to fall for provocations, not to obstruct the work of military personnel and police, and to comply with curfew rules.
Special attention in the statement was paid to the role of external factors: the TCC stated that Russia is interested in inciting internal conflicts in Ukraine. This statement came against the backdrop of growing tension surrounding the activities of recruitment centers across the country.

It should be recalled that following appeals by people's deputies with complaints about the possible confiscation of mobile phones and humiliating treatment of citizens at the Mykolaiv and Odesa TCCs, inspections were ordered to clarify all circumstances.
