In the night of June 24, large-scale events unfolded on the temporarily occupied Crimean peninsula. Russian military and energy infrastructure suffered a powerful attack covering key cities: Sevastopol, Kerch, and Bakhchisarai. According to local sources and statements from occupation authorities, the strikes led to massive fires and a complete power outage in several settlements.
Sevastopol Plunged into Darkness
The most destructive consequences were recorded in Sevastopol. The main blow hit the Balaklava Thermal Power Plant — a key energy supply facility for the region. As a result of the attack, the city was completely cut off from electricity, triggering a massive blackout. The so-called "governor" of the city, Mikhail Razvozhayev, confirmed the strike on energy facilities and declared a special regime in Sevastopol. According to him, emergency services are trying to assess the scale of the damage, while residents remain without power.
Fires at Military Facilities: Bakhchisarai and Kerch
Around 4:20 AM, a powerful explosion was heard in Bakhchisarai. According to the Telegram channel "Crimean Wind," the 133rd Separate Material and Technical Support Brigade of the Russian Black Sea Fleet (military unit 73998) warehouses were hit. The fire engulfed the area near Chekhov and Simferopol streets. This brigade is responsible for logistics, food supplies, fuel, ammunition, and equipment repair for the occupation forces.
On the other end of the peninsula — in Kerch — local residents heard a series of explosions at 02:08, 02:23, and also early in the morning at 03:34 and 03:36. Satellite images confirmed the presence of two large fire sites within the military town to the south of the city.
Strikes on Logistics and Infrastructure
After 4:00 AM, sharp voltage fluctuations began in Simferopol, followed by large-scale emergency power outages. Entire villages in the Krasnogvardeysky district were left without electricity. Parallel to this, the Special Operations Forces (SOF) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, together with the Resistance Movement, destroyed a strategic railway bridge over the North Crimean Canal near the village of Razdolnoye.
The operation took place in two stages: on the night of June 22, drones collapsed one of the bridge spans, and on the following night, they struck the remaining structure and special equipment that the occupiers were using to restore the tracks.
Large-Scale Drone Operation
Units of the Unmanned Systems Forces (USF), including formations "Madjar's Birds," "Nemesis," and others, carried out a coordinated operation. In one night, more than 60 important military targets in Crimea were hit. Among them were warehouses, command posts, communication nodes, and facilities related to the launch of Shahed/Geran strike UAVs.
A fire was also recorded near the village of Shafranne, located west of the "Gvardeyskoye" military airfield — one of the key launch points for drones by Russian troops.
