Scale of Destruction and Casualties
As a result of a massive Russian attack on Kyiv, as of 07:00 AM, damage and destruction have been recorded in more than 30 locations across all districts of the capital. Significant direct hits on residential buildings have been confirmed. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine citing a statement by Tymur Tkachenko.
According to him, rescuers continue to extricate people from the rubble. There are fatalities among the injured. Currently, 9 deaths have been confirmed, although information regarding several other individuals is still being verified. Operations at the sites are ongoing. Additionally, 56 injured people have been confirmed, including at least two children.
Update at 08:15: 11 fatalities have been confirmed in the capital, reported the Minister of Internal Affairs, Ihor Klymenko.
Targeted Strikes on Civilian Objects
The Head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko, warned residents: "Kyivans must under no circumstances ignore air raid alarms. The Russians are striking residential buildings with great precision. This night once again demonstrated their terrorist nature".
Emergency Services Operations
Currently, relevant services are working on setting up operational headquarters near key affected locations to provide assistance. On the night of July 2, Russian forces carried out a massive combined attack on Kyiv using drones and various types of missiles. Due to enemy shelling, air defense forces operated in the city for an extended period.
Consequences of the Attack
The attack resulted in extensive damage to civilian infrastructure in seven districts of the capital. The State Emergency Service released photos of the aftermath, documenting the extinguishing of large-scale fires in multi-story residential buildings, private housing areas, and warehouse facilities.
Specifically, a three-story non-residential building — an ambulance station — caught fire in the Shevchenkivskyi district.
