In the night of July 2, the capital of Ukraine came under attack. Russian forces launched a massive combined assault on Kyiv, employing a multi-wave tactic. According to operational reports, ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as attack drones, were used to strike the city.
Casualties and Injured
As a result of the enemy shelling, the first casualty among the civilian population has been confirmed. This was reported by the Kyiv City Military Administration (KMVA). The head of the department, Tymur Tkachenko, expressed his condolences to the relatives and loved ones of the deceased.
The situation regarding the injured remains tense. As of 3:51 AM, the number of wounded in the capital reached 11. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed that all injured persons were promptly hospitalized and are currently in city hospitals.
Warning of Threat
The large-scale attack occurred following a warning from the head of state. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who was visiting Ireland, held a press conference where he presented data from Ukrainian intelligence. He announced a prepared massive strike against the country's territory and strongly urged citizens to pay close attention to air raid alarms and respond to them promptly.
