A new large-scale air operation was carried out overnight across Ukrainian territory. The Russian side employed an unprecedented number of munitions, attacking several regions simultaneously. According to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the enemy deployed more than 350 units of equipment, including ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as strike drones.

Scale and Direction of the Strike

According to the report from the Ukrainian Air Defense Forces, the attack was characterized by the simultaneous use of various types of air assault weapons from different directions. The main vectors of the strike were the Kyiv and Lviv regions. However, other regions of the country were also hit: Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, Vinnytsia, Poltava, Mykolaiv, and Ivano-Frankivsk regions.

In total, the enemy launched 358 air assault weapons against Ukraine. The composition of the attack was distributed as follows:

  • 74 missiles of various types;
  • 284 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

Performance of Ukrainian Air Defense

To repel the massive attack, aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups, and drone operators were mobilized. According to preliminary data, as of 09:00, the Ukrainian air defense system managed to neutralize 320 targets.

55 missiles and 265 drones were shot down and neutralized. Despite the efforts of the defenders, hits were recorded at 20 locations. In particular, the following entered Ukrainian territory:

  • 3 anti-ship missiles;
  • 6 ballistic missiles;
  • 2 cruise missiles;
  • 17 strike UAVs.

Debris from the shot-down equipment fell at 13 different locations. The Air Force clarified that the fate of eight more missiles is currently being verified.

Consequences of the Attack

The media paid special attention to the situation in Lviv, where enemy missiles landed. Local authorities confirmed a large number of casualties. At the same time, as of the morning, several strike drones were still in Ukrainian airspace, requiring the population to remain on high alert.

Separately, it is worth noting the incident in neighboring Poland, where an unidentified object fell onto the country's territory during this attack. The situation continues to develop, and Ukrainian authorities are urging citizens to follow safety rules.
