On the night of June 11, Ukraine was subjected to a large-scale air attack. The Russian side deployed an unprecedented number of attack drones and ballistic missiles in an attempt to breach the air defense system. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, the defense against the strike began on the evening of June 10 and continued until the morning.

Scale and Details of the Attack

According to the report, the enemy group launched a total of 221 attack drones. The attackers' arsenal included "Shahed", "Gerbera", and "Italmas" type drones, as well as jet models and "Parody" type decoy drones. Additionally, two "Iskander-M" ballistic missiles were fired at Ukraine from the Belgorod region.

Drones attacked the country from several directions, covering the north, south, and east. Launches were carried out from the territories of Orel, Kursk, Bryansk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as from the occupied territories of Crimea — from the Chauda and Guardeyevsky districts.

Air Defense System Operations

The air threat was countered by combined forces: aviation, anti-aircraft troops, electronic warfare (EW) units, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces. As of 07:30 in the morning, 195 drones of various types had been shot down or suppressed.

Despite the active work of the defenders, it was not possible to completely avoid losses. As a result of the attack, missile and drone hits were recorded at 9 locations. There are also reports of debris falling on 8 objects. The Air Force warned that the attack is ongoing and urged citizens to follow safety rules.

Associated Strikes

The air aggression was accompanied by other military actions. The previous evening, the Russian side attacked two cargo ships flying the flags of Barbados and Panama in the Black Sea, which were traveling along the maritime corridor. In addition, the occupiers launched several waves of strikes on the south of the Odesa region, where civilian objects and energy infrastructure were damaged.
