On the night of June 9, the Kharkiv region was subjected to a large-scale attack by unmanned aerial vehicles. Enemy strikes caused serious damage to infrastructure and resulted in casualties. According to local authorities, the most severe consequences were recorded in the city of Chuhuiv and in the central districts of Kharkiv.
Tragedy in Chuhuiv
One of the epicenters of the night attack was the city of Chuhuiv. As a result of drone hits, three people were killed. Another man, a 34-year-old resident of the city, suffered an acute stress reaction. Fires broke out at the scene of the incidents; all emergency services are working to extinguish them and rescue people.
Strikes on Kharkiv districts
In Kharkiv itself, strikes were recorded in the Shevchenkivskyi and Holodnohirskyi districts. As a result of the attack, about ten people were injured. In the Shevchenkivskyi district, a drone hit the roof of a five-story residential building. The blast wave blew out the windows in the building opposite. Units of the State Emergency Service (SES) and emergency medical teams are working at the incident sites.
Enemy drones continue to be detected over the city. Authorities are urging residents to stay in safe places until the air raid alarm is lifted.
