Residents of the region recorded mass flyovers of unmanned aerial vehicles heading towards Moscow. The situation is complicated by the fact that similar aerial targets were spotted in other regions, particularly in Tula.
Government Response and Air Defense Activity
Information about the air raid began to come in at dawn. Starting at 4:00 AM, Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin began actively posting updates on his Telegram channel. In his posts, he reported on the operation of the air defense system, which was intercepting unknown drones attempting to break through to the Russian capital.
An hour after the start of the attack, by 05:45, the city mayor presented the first official data: air defense forces had already shot down 50 drones. Judging by the nature of the messages, at the time of publication, the attack had not yet been fully repelled.
Witnesses and Footage from the Regions
Video recordings from eyewitnesses began to appear on social media. Residents of the Moscow region posted footage of drones flying towards the capital. Simultaneously, reports came in from Tula, where aerial targets were also recorded around 4 AM.
An analysis of Sobyanin's posts reveals an interesting detail: a number of messages contained only a statement of the fact of the destruction of drones, without mentioning interception in the air. This may indicate that some drones were indeed able to reach the territory of Moscow itself.
