The night silence in the enemy rear was disrupted not just by the hum of engines, but by pinpoint chaos. Ukrainian pilots of the Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) carried out a large-scale operation that demonstrated that for modern drones, the concept of "deep rear" has ceased to exist. More than 20 confirmed hits within a radius of 70 to 100 kilometers from the front line were the result of coordinated work by operators and intelligence.
Target: 64th Brigade
The main priority in this series of strikes was the military camp of the Russian Federation's 64th Separate Motor Rifle Brigade, located in Primorsky Posad on occupied Zaporizhzhia. The choice of target was not accidental: this unit entered history as one of the main perpetrators of atrocities in Bucha in the spring of 2022. The operation became not only a tactical blow to the manpower but also an act of retribution.
Commander of the 414th Separate Brigade of Unmanned Aerial Systems Robert Brovdi (callsign "Madjar") confirmed the scale of the success. According to preliminary data, as a result of the attack, the 64th Brigade lost 31 servicemen: nine killed, nine wounded, and 13 missing. Intelligence believes that the real figures may be higher, as the training ground was maximally filled with personnel at the time of the strike.
Hunting for Logistics and Infrastructure
The strikes were not limited to personnel only. Ukrainian drones hit a number of critically important objects ensuring the operation of the Russian military machine:
- The "Trekhizbenka" training ground in the Luhansk region (closest to Kriakivka), where enemy losses are currently being clarified.
- A gas storage facility in the Yenakiieve area in the Donbas.
- Key logistics hubs ensuring the supply of frontline units.
These attacks demonstrate a systematic approach: destroying equipment and warehouses deprives the enemy of resources, while strikes on training grounds deprive them of the opportunity for training and restoring combat readiness.
Strategy of Deep Strike
Events of recent days confirm the trend: UAS and special units of the SBU are increasingly striking at objects located hundreds of kilometers from the front line. On the night of May 30, drones hit more than 20 targets in Crimea and Taganrog, including elements of the "shadow fleet" and the "KurganNefteprodukt" oil depot in the Rostov region.
Just a month ago, on May 20, the base of the "Russian Academy of Rocket and Artillery Sciences" was destroyed — a center for training UAV pilots and producing ammunition. And on May 29, the 16th Center for Radio Electronic Reconnaissance of the FSB in the Krasnodar Krai was hit, which was used to guide missiles at Ukraine. The enemy can no longer feel safe even in their "deep" rear.
