The healthcare system in Ukraine is facing a significant staffing challenge that requires immediate action. The country's Ministry of Health has launched a comprehensive labor market monitoring initiative, identifying over 9,400 open positions for medical professionals. To coordinate the hiring process and ensure transparency, the Unified Job Portal for Healthcare Institutions, developed with the support of the Ministry of Digital Transformation, has been utilized.

Who is in highest demand?

An analysis of data published on the portal reveals that the demand for staff is unevenly distributed. The highest demand is recorded for mid-level medical personnel. Primarily, healthcare institutions are seeking nurses, male nurses, as well as emergency service staff. This is due to the high workload on primary care and the need for rapid response to calls.

However, the shortage is not limited to mass professions. The Ministry of Health has noted an acute lack of highly specialized specialists. As of July 20, the database included open positions for rare doctors whose competencies are essential for complex diagnosis and patient treatment.

How the job search system works

The platform is administered by the state enterprise "Electronic Health." A key principle of the portal's operation is data relevance. According to legislation, medical institutions are required to publish information about a new or vacant position within 10 working days. This guarantees that applicants see only real and fresh offers.

To apply for a vacancy, one must register and log in to the portal using a qualified electronic signature. The system ensures equal opportunities for all categories of specialists: from medical university graduates (interns) to experienced doctors with years of practice.

Opportunities for applicants

The portal offers flexible tools for job searching. Users can filter offers based on the following criteria:

  • Geographic location (region);
  • Medical specialty;
  • Level of proposed salary;
  • Availability of additional social benefits, such as housing provision.

Over the last six months, medical facilities have published 898 new announcements on the platform, indicating dynamic development in the healthcare labor market.
