The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (MES) has made significant adjustments to the admission procedure for graduate school for the current academic year. The key change is the extension of the admission campaign deadlines, which will give applicants more time to prepare documents and take exams. In addition, universities are allowed to conduct an additional intake for contract places.
New deadlines and second intake
According to the updated rules, higher education institutions have the right to conduct an additional intake for contract places. This process may begin no earlier than September 29. Specific dates will be approved by the universities themselves in their admission rules.
An important limitation is the enrollment deadline: it must take place no later than 15 days after the end of application registration, but in any case — before October 15. This creates a strict deadline for finalizing the admission.
Examination campaign: dates and scores
The MES reminded that the main session of the state entrance exams (EVE and EVI) has already ended. Participants will be able to see their results on a scale from 100 to 200 points in their personal cabinets by August 7.
For those who did not have time or could not participate earlier, an additional session of EVE and EVI is provided. It will take place from August 24 to 28, and the results will be published by September 4.
Structure of the competitive score
After receiving the results of the state exams, applicants must take a mandatory entrance exam in their specialty (or specialties for interdisciplinary programs). It is this exam that forms 60% of the final competitive score. It is mandatory for all applicants, including those entitled to special admission conditions.
In addition, universities may conduct additional assessments: interviews, presentations of research proposals or scientific achievements. The list and procedure for such events are determined by the admission rules of the specific educational institution.
Special sessions at own expense
The MES has also allowed the conduct of specially organized EVE sessions for applicants to master's and graduate programs. Those who did not take the exam during the main or additional session, did not register earlier, or wish to improve their result can participate in them. The conduct of such sessions is carried out at the expense of the participants themselves.
