A new method of masking explosive devices has been recorded in the Kherson region. Occupiers have begun hiding improvised mines in household items, specifically in packages of wet wipes. This was stated by the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration (RMA), Alexander Prokudin, in his Telegram channel.
According to the official, such items are remotely scattered across the region. Prokudin warned that using household items to disguise explosives is just one of the possible scenarios, and other familiar objects may be used in the future.
Safety rules for residents
Given the change in the enemy's tactics, Prokudin urged the population of Kherson to strictly observe mine safety rules. The main advice remains unchanged: do not approach unfamiliar objects, do not touch them, and do not attempt to move them. Any unattended find should be considered potentially dangerous.
History of incidents
This is not the first time Kherson residents have faced such threats. In early June, residents were warned about explosive devices on the Beryslav highway, urging them to refrain from traveling along this route.
A particular tragedy occurred in the city center. During routine street cleaning, an unknown object detonated, injuring seven municipal workers.
In November 2025, the situation escalated again: anti-personnel leaf mines were discovered in Kherson. Occupiers used drones to scatter explosives, which were extremely difficult to spot under a layer of leaves and debris. Now, with the appearance of mines in packages of essential goods, the risk to the civilian population has increased even more.
