The investigation has established shocking details of the brutal treatment of a mobilized man in the Mykolaiv region. A father of five became a victim of illegal actions by employees of the Territorial Recruitment Center (TCC). According to the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI), officials attempted to force his deployment to the front line using torture and illegal deprivation of liberty.
Ignoring medical conclusions
According to the case materials, the incident occurred at the end of 2025 during mobilization activities. The man, who has health problems, was taken to the TCC and forcibly referred to a military-medical commission. Despite obvious health issues, he was deemed fit for service.
However, two military units refused to accept the man due to his physical condition. Instead of releasing the citizen, the leadership of the recruitment center, according to the investigation, decided to achieve mobilization “at any cost”.
Nine days in the basement
Law enforcement officers found out that the victim was illegally detained for nine days. Witness testimony and investigative actions confirm that the man was held in a basement. During this period, systematic physical violence and psychological pressure were applied to him.
The goal of the TCC employees was to force the man to sign documents regarding “voluntary” mobilization or consent to have no claims against the center employees. He was only released after numerous bruises and signs of beating appeared on the victim’s body.
Severe injuries and criminal case
After his release, the man sought medical help. Doctors diagnosed serious injuries: concussion, broken arm and ribs, as well as numerous abrasions. Investigators paid special attention to infected wounds that the man received as a result of having his limbs tied.
Currently, three suspects will face trial: the Acting Head of the Fourth Department of the Voznesensk District TCC and two of his subordinates. They are charged with torture and illegal deprivation of liberty by a group of persons.
If found guilty, the accused face imprisonment for up to 12 years. This case has become another resonant episode in a series of SBI investigations concerning abuses during mobilization. Previously, six TCC workers and their accomplices were detained in the Odesa region on similar charges.
