There is little time left until Ukraine's Independence Day, and for many citizens, the issue of receiving a one-time financial assistance payment has become relevant. The Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU) has clarified the procedure: for whom payments will arrive automatically and for whom it is necessary to personally contact the authority.

Automatic payment procedure

The main news for most recipients of social assistance is that the need to personally write applications has disappeared. The PFU emphasizes that for a wide range of citizens, money will be credited in automatic mode. This concerns the following categories:

  • Pensioners;
  • Subsidy recipients;
  • Citizens with preferential status.

These people do not need to take any additional actions to receive funds by August 24.

Who needs to contact the PFU personally

There is a category of citizens who have a legal right to a one-time payment but do not fall into the lists of automatic accrual. If you belong to this group, you must independently submit the appropriate application to the territorial body of the Pension Fund of Ukraine.

The PFU paid special attention to those who will receive the status of a recipient of financial assistance immediately before the holiday. If the payment is not made as of October 1 of the current year, the citizen has the right to apply to the PFU body with a request for its receipt. In this case, the money will be paid out by November 1.

Additional opportunities for pensioners

In addition to one-time payments, Ukrainians have the opportunity to optimize their pension provision. Previously, experts explained that citizens can choose the most profitable pension option and switch to it in online mode.

There is also a mechanism for solving the problem of lack of work experience. If working years are missing to receive full pension payments, there is an opportunity to purchase them. This allows you to arrange the right to payments faster.

Separately, it is worth noting the position of war veterans in Ukraine. Special conditions for pension provision are legislatively provided for them, which take into account their merits and status.
