New rules for Monobank clients
From July 1, changes regarding the top-up of Monobank cards via terminals of the EasyPay network came into force in Ukraine. A commission will now be charged for this operation. This is reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing an official statement from the EasyPay company.
It is important to note that the initiative to introduce a fee comes not from the terminal network, but from the bank itself. EasyPay emphasized that this is a decision by Monobank, and the company is merely implementing the new cooperation terms.
Who is affected by the changes
The new rules concern exclusively Monobank cardholders. Clients using cards of other Ukrainian partner banks can continue to deposit cash at EasyPay terminals absolutely free of charge. The situation for the majority of network users remains the same: top-ups for other banks are not subject to a commission.
Alternative top-up methods
Despite the introduction of a fee at EasyPay, Monobank clients still have a wide choice of free channels for depositing cash. Cards can be topped up without a commission at the following locations:
- monobox and abank terminals;
- City24 terminals;
- Ukrposhta cash desks;
- Cash desks of partner banks.
Update on security rules
In addition to financial changes, general rules for using ATMs and terminals were updated in Ukraine at the end of June. Now, mandatory confirmation by phone will be required to complete any operation. This measure is aimed at increasing the security of users' financial transactions.
