Luhansk Zorya has faced a significant personnel loss ahead of the new season. The team led by Viktor Skrypnyk has parted ways early with 28-year-old Bosnian midfielder Nemanja Andušić. The player decided to leave the club immediately after the conclusion of the training camp in Slovenia, returning to Kyiv without the footballer.
Reasons for departure: Safety comes first
According to information from the "TaToTake" project, published by Sport RBC.UA, Andušić has agreed with the Luhansk club's management to terminate cooperation. The main factor influencing the Bosnian's decision was safety risks. The footballer pointed to the constant shelling of the Ukrainian capital by Russian occupiers as a reason why he cannot continue his career under current conditions.
Statistics and transfer plans
During his time with Zorya, Nemanja Andušić played 22 matches, scoring seven goals and providing two assists. Notably, his contract with the club was set to last until the summer of 2028, but force majeure circumstances led to its premature termination.
The loss of a key player forces the Luhansk club to urgently enter the transfer market. The Zorya structure is already looking for a potential newcomer capable of filling the position of the Bosnian midfielder. Meanwhile, other foreign legionnaires remain in the team's roster: Jordan, Junior Reis, Gabriel Esquín, and others.
Preparation for the start of the season
During the training camp in Slovenia, Viktor Skrypnyk's team played six friendly matches, showing a mixed result: two draws and four defeats. In the previous 2025/26 season, the Luhansk team finished in eighth place in the UPL standings.
Despite personnel changes, the official start of the new season for Zorya is already scheduled. The first match will take place on July 31 against Kovalivka's Kolos. The match will begin at 18:00.
