Starting June 1, 2026, a new financial support system has been implemented in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Ministry of Defense has introduced an additional monthly allowance of 10,000 UAH. This measure is designed to support military personnel who are performing their duties but were previously not eligible for higher combat allowances.
This decision was formalized by the Ministry of Defense Order No. 232 dated June 29, 2026. Although the document came into force on June 30, the payment is accrued retroactively from the beginning of the month. This means that eligible military personnel will receive the funds for June simultaneously with their other due payments.
Who will receive the new allowance
According to the ministry's clarifications, the 10,000 UAH is a basic rear-area allowance. It is intended for those who do not receive higher payments of 30,000, 50,000, or 100,000 UAH. If a service member already receives one of these amounts, the additional 10,000 UAH payment is not granted. In cases where a person is eligible for multiple types of allowances, only one—the highest amount—is paid.
It is important to note that the presence or absence of a new motivational contract does not affect the right to receive this amount. The supplement applies to all military personnel regardless of the type of service, provided they meet the established conditions.
Key exclusions
The Ministry of Defense has clearly defined categories that will not receive this allowance. In particular, the payment is not granted to cadets of training military units, contract cadets, or those who entered a military educational institution from civilian life. For them, the order of financial support remains unchanged.
The order also outlines situations where the rear-area allowance is not paid. The calculation is made proportionally to the actual time of performing official duties. From the total period, days of leave, training business trips, and other periods where the right to remuneration does not arise are deducted.
Technical details of payments
Official documents confirming the actual performance of duties will be used to assign the payment. The Ministry of Defense emphasized that the new supplement will not be included in the calculation of maternity benefits, as it is a temporary additional allowance valid only for the period of martial law.
Recall that, in parallel with the introduction of new payments, the ministry has launched a system of new basic contracts for rear and non-combat positions. They are concluded for two years, provide for a guaranteed deferment after service, and offer financial support starting from 30,000 UAH. Applications for such contracts can now be submitted via the "Reserve+" app.
