Meta has announced a major update to its content creation tools on Facebook. The company has introduced a personal AI assistant designed to simplify the workflow for bloggers and significantly expanded the capabilities of automatic video translation. These steps are aimed at retaining creators within the ecosystem amidst intensifying competition with TikTok and YouTube.
Virtual Assistant Instead of Complex Charts
The main novelty is the launch of a virtual assistant that takes over routine data analysis. Creators no longer need to decipher complex digital dashboards in the Creator Studio daily. The system allows users to ask direct questions and receive instant, personalized recommendations for optimizing their pages.
The functionality of the new assistant includes three key areas:
- Instant answers. Bloggers can ask the chatbot for the optimal time to publish posts or analyze the topics most frequently discussed by subscribers in the comments.
- In-depth audience analysis. The algorithm tracks changes in the subscriber structure over a selected period and suggests specific steps to improve content reach.
- Idea generation. The system monitors current cultural events and popular audio tracks, offering ready-made topics for new posts.
Currently, the feature is available to a limited group of creators in the US, Canada, and India. In the future, Meta plans to expand the geography and add new analytical capabilities. With each interaction, the AI learns the specifics of the creator's work and adapts its advice to specific tasks.
Fighting for Attention and Retaining Creators
The launch of the built-in AI tool is part of Meta's global strategy to maintain its leadership. By encouraging creators to produce content using ready-made ideas, Facebook aims to increase overall activity and user engagement. Furthermore, having a convenient toolkit within the app reduces the need for bloggers to use third-party services, such as ChatGPT, during brainstorming. This allows the company to keep content creators exclusively within its digital infrastructure.
Revolution in Video Translation: Voice and Mimicry
Simultaneously with the launch of the assistant, Meta expanded the list of languages for automatic video translation. Arabic, French, Thai, Vietnamese, and Indonesian have been added to the list.
The uniqueness of the technology lies in preserving the original voice, intonation, and unique sound of the author when translating short Reels videos. To achieve maximum naturalness, developers have implemented a lip-sync function. The algorithm automatically adjusts the blogger's facial expressions and lip movements to match the audio track of the translated language, making the video organic for the viewer.
According to the company, the technology is already demonstrating high efficiency: more than 500 million Facebook users watch videos translated with the help of AI on a weekly basis.
