On Monday, August 3, the city of Dnipro once again became a target of Russian aggression. As a result of the strike by the occupiers, warehouses storing food supplies caught fire. Information on casualties is currently being verified.
This was reported by the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Alexander Gancha, while commenting on the situation in the region. According to him, the enemy attack caused damage to critical infrastructure ensuring the city's food security.
"The enemy attacked Dnipro. Warehouses with food supplies caught fire," Gancha stated, confirming the incident.
Series of strikes on regional infrastructure
The attack on the warehouses is not an isolated incident. Over the past few weeks, Russian forces have made several attempts to destabilize the situation in the Dnipropetrovsk region by striking logistical and industrial facilities.
Just a few days ago, on July 30, Russian forces shelled the "Nova Poshta" terminal in the Dnipro district for the fifth time. Thanks to the observance of safety protocols and the actions of the company's employees, human casualties were avoided. On the same day, the administrative building of a food industry enterprise was also hit.
Massive drone attack and air defense operations
The situation was particularly tense on the night of July 27, when Russian forces launched a massive drone attack on Dnipro. A hit on a private residence led to a fire. The blast wave damaged windows in high-rise buildings, parked cars, and commercial premises.
Ukraine's air defense forces repelled this threat, shooting down 15 Russian drones over various districts of the region. Earlier, on July 24, an incident was recorded involving a drone attack on a passenger train locomotive. The operational actions of railway workers and the timely evacuation of passengers prevented a tragedy.
