The Ukrainian women's artistic gymnastics team is completing the final stages of preparation for the 2026 World Championships, which will be held from October 17 to 25 in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The upcoming tournament will be a historic milestone for the national team, as most athletes will step onto the World Championships stage for the first time in their careers.
Team Composition and Debutants
Five Ukrainian gymnasts will travel to the world championship in the Netherlands: Diana Lobok, Marianna Kinyuk, Bohdana Kovaleva, Anastasia Lev, and Khrystyna Hrudetska. It is worth noting that only 17-year-old Diana Lobok has experience performing at such a high level, having competed in 2025 and winning a silver medal at the World Challenge Cup stage in Paris. The other four athletes will experience the atmosphere of a senior world championship for the first time, though they already have serious competitive experience at the continental level.
Path to the World Forum and Ambitious Goals
The young Ukrainian team has already managed to make a statement on the international arena this season. In August, this same quintet of gymnasts demonstrated a confident performance in the team tournament at the 2026 European Championships, taking 9th place overall. This exact result allowed the Ukrainians to secure a direct spot at the world forum in Rotterdam.
The main sports goal for the Ukrainian women's national team at the upcoming World Championships is to finish in the top 12 of the team standings. Successfully achieving this goal will allow the national team to automatically qualify for the next World Championships without undergoing additional qualification through continental championships, as well as continue the fight for coveted Olympic licenses for the 2028 Games.
