In the morning of June 26, widespread power outages were recorded across Ukraine. The cause was new missile and drone attacks launched by Russian forces against energy infrastructure facilities.
Official confirmation came from the company "Ukrenergo". As of Tuesday morning, five regions of the country were left without electricity. The operator's statement notes that in those regions where security conditions allow, emergency repair crews have already begun their work.
Peak load and weather forecast
The situation in the power grid is complicated by weather factors. According to "Ukrenergo", at 09:30, the level of electricity consumption corresponded to seasonal indicators and did not differ from the previous day. However, the previous evening saw a daily peak load, which exceeded Wednesday's figures by 1.9%. Experts link this surge in consumption to hot weather and the mass use of air conditioners by the population.
In this regard, the power system operator has appealed to citizens and enterprises to redistribute their energy consumption schedule. The most effective period for industrial operations is identified as the time between 10:00 and 16:00, when solar power plants operate at full capacity.
Recommendations for the population
Special attention in "Ukrenergo"'s appeal is paid to the evening hours. The operator asks citizens to consume electricity frugally between 18:00 and 22:00. During this time, it is recommended to avoid turning on several powerful household appliances simultaneously to reduce the load on the grid and prevent emergency outages.

The attack on Ukraine's energy sector continues. In the night of June 26, facilities in the Odesa region were hit. As a result of the shelling, problems with power supply arose in the city of Vylkove and several settlements of the Vylkove community.
Power supply problems were also observed in the capital. The previous day, emergency power outages were introduced in parts of Kyiv. At that time, the cause was technical malfunctions in the power system, however, after the incident, "Ukrenergo" released a forecast regarding the power situation for June 26.
