On the night of June 28, the capital of Ukraine experienced a massive missile attack, which damaged both residential areas and industrial facilities. Among those affected was one of the country's key pharmaceutical companies — 'Darnitsia'.
The fact that the facility was damaged was reported by Ekaterina Zagoriy, a member of the company's strategic council. In her statement, she emphasized that details of the incident are currently not being disclosed. This is being done for security reasons and until the competent authorities complete their work at the scene.
Situation at the plant and staff status
Despite the strike, there is no critical situation for the company. According to representatives of 'Darnitsia', there are no casualties or injured employees. An important factor is that the plant will continue its operations. This means that, despite the damage, the production capacity has not been completely destroyed, and the company retains the ability to supply the market with medicines.
Nature of the attack and consequences in Kyiv
The attack on Kyiv on the night of June 28 was part of a large-scale strike on Ukraine. Russian forces used anti-ship and ballistic missiles, as well as 142 attack drones. Ukraine's air defense system intercepted most of the targets, however, it was not possible to avoid strikes on the territory of the capital.
In particular, in the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv, where the enterprise is located, explosions and fires were recorded at several addresses. As a result of the attack, one person was injured. The fire engulfed not only industrial facilities but also residential areas: fires were recorded near residential buildings, as well as on the territory of an auto service station (ASO) and in a non-residential building.
Over the night, a missile hit and 14 attack drones were recorded at 11 locations. In addition, debris from downed targets fell on 13 different sites, creating additional risks for infrastructure and the population.
