On the night of June 26, the Odesa region was once again hit by Russian attacks. The main target was the energy infrastructure, which led to widespread power outages and fires in border areas.
According to RBC-Ukraine, citing the Izmail District State Administration (DSA), the enemy struck targets in the Vylkove urban territorial community. As a result of the attack, elements of the energy system and civilian infrastructure were damaged, and a fire broke out.
Consequences of the strike: no power and one injured
Immediately after the attack, units of the State Emergency Service (SES) began to eliminate the consequences. According to authorities, one person was injured in the shelling and received medical assistance.
A critical consequence of the attack was a complete power outage. The city of Vylkove and a number of settlements in the Vylkove community were left without electricity. Damage to the energy infrastructure requires time to restore, creating serious difficulties for the region's residents.
Series of attacks on southern Ukraine
The attack on Vylkove was part of a series of strikes on the Odesa region throughout June. Earlier, on June 21, Russian forces struck an agricultural enterprise in the Odesa district with an Iskander missile. At that time, vehicles and fuel tanks caught fire, and a warehouse building was destroyed.
Another incident occurred on June 12, when the enemy attacked the southern part of the region. On that day, one missile hit a private residential area, and another damaged solar panels at one of the enterprises. These events indicate the systematic nature of the strikes on the region's infrastructure.
