On the night of June 7, the occupied part of the Donetsk region was hit by unmanned aerial vehicles. The main target of the attack was the Zuevskaya thermal power plant, located in the city of Zuhres. Events unfolded rapidly: after drones hit the area near the settlement of Chistyakovo, a powerful fire broke out, engulfing the surrounding territory.
Energy collapse in occupied territories
Zuevskaya TPP, located about 40 kilometers east of Donetsk, is a key element of the region's power system. Since 2014, the plant has been under the control of occupation authorities. The strike on the facility led to serious consequences for the infrastructure. According to open sources, a number of large settlements were left without electricity. The blackout zone included Makiivka, Khartsyzk, Yenakiieve, Debaltseve, and Kirovsk.
Strikes on logistics hubs
In addition to energy facilities, elements of the railway infrastructure were also targeted. Information is circulating online about the damage to railway tracks, which could significantly hinder logistics in the region. The situation is complicated by the fact that monitoring resources have recorded drone activity in the neighboring Luhansk region. A fire was also recorded at a railway substation near the settlement of Rodakovo, caused by an attack by strike drones.
Situation in other regions
The attacks on the night of June 7 were not limited to just the Donbas. During this same period, sounds of explosions and gunfire were recorded in occupied Crimea. Preliminary data indicates that a drone hit an oil depot. Earlier, on June 5, a large-scale drone attack affected a number of Russian cities, including the ports of Mariupol and Berdyansk. The series of strikes indicates the continuation of active hostilities and the targeting of the enemy's critical infrastructure.
