Large-Scale Attack: Casualties and Destruction

On the night of June 2, Ukraine was subjected to a massive combined strike. According to the latest data, 13 people were killed and more than 100 were injured as a result of the attack. The most severe damage to civilian infrastructure was recorded in Kyiv, Dnipro, and Kharkiv. Russia used ballistic, cruise, and hypersonic missiles, as well as drones.

Tragedy in Dnipro

One of the heaviest nights was experienced in Dnipro. Multi-story residential buildings were destroyed in the city; 9 people were killed, including a child. Another 35 residents were injured, and six people are missing. Among the dead is Anton Yarmolenko, a Major and Deputy Head of the Fire and Rescue Unit. As the Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ihor Klymenko, reported, he was heading to a call at the moment of the strike.

Situation in Kyiv

In the capital, rescuers worked in almost all districts — at 29 locations. Most fires were extinguished, however, work continues at six active points in five districts of Kyiv. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, four people were killed as a result of the strike. Among the injured is a three-year-old child with shrapnel wounds.

According to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, the number of injured reached 65. Head of the Kyiv City State Administration Tymur Tkachenko clarified that among the wounded are children aged 3, 11, and 17. Residential buildings, a car dealership, a utility enterprise, an academy, outbuildings, and a gas station were damaged in the city.

Energy and Infrastructure

As a result of the shelling, some consumers were temporarily left without electricity in Kyiv, as well as in Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Cherkasy regions. In the capital, a production site and the infrastructure of an energy enterprise were damaged; two energy workers were injured and hospitalized.

In addition, the enemy attacked oil and gas industry objects: the infrastructure was damaged, but there were no casualties among the workers. The Ministry of Energy noted that consumption restrictions are not expected today. However, the department urged to shift active energy consumption to daytime hours — from 11:00 to 15:00, and in the evening, from 18:00 to 22:00, to use electricity economically.

Other Regions

In Kharkiv, houses and a food enterprise were damaged as a result of the attack, and more than 10 people were injured. Damage to civilian objects was also recorded in Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Chernihiv, and Zaporizhzhia regions. In the Kyiv region, rescuers extinguished fires in residential buildings, a mail terminal, and vehicles.

Emergency Services Operations

Rescuers worked around the clock to eliminate the consequences of the strikes. In Kyiv, some districts were left without light, and public transport is temporarily running with changes due to damage to the overhead contact line. A separate fire occurred at the Ministry of Internal Affairs Service Center 8041 — citizens who had an appointment will be able to receive the service at any other MIA service center in Kyiv.
