The night of May 30 became another test of resilience for Russia. Unknown drones struck strategic facilities in several regions, turning the skies over industrial centers into a war zone. Taganrog found itself at the epicenter of events, where a fiery storm engulfed the port area, while alarm signals were also heard in Armavir and Crimea.
Taganrog: Fire on a Tanker and in the Port
At 1:00 AM in the Rostov region, an alert was issued. Local residents on social media reported an approaching threat that did not subside until dawn. After 03:45, footage from the scene began to spread online: loud explosions shook the area of the Taganrog Bay and the famous aircraft factory.
In the morning, Governor Yuri Slyusar officially confirmed the scale of the incident. According to him, the drone attack led to fires at several critically important facilities: a tanker, a fuel storage tank, and an administrative building of the port. Fortunately, preliminary data indicates that no casualties occurred, but the damage to infrastructure is evident.
Echo of Explosions: Armavir and Crimea
The strikes were not limited to one region. In the Krasnodar Krai, in the city of Armavir, drone activity was also recorded. According to independent researchers (OSINT), the target of the attack could have been the oil depot of the "Southern Oil Company," although official confirmation of these facts is currently lacking.
The wave of attacks also did not spare the temporarily occupied Crimea. In Feodosia, residents heard powerful explosions. Analysts suggest that the strike may have been directed at the local oil depot, but under conditions of information noise, confirming this 100% is currently impossible.
Return to "Atlant Aero"
Taganrog has not been the target of Ukrainian strikes for the first time. On the night of April 19, explosions were heard here, causing a fire at one of the enterprises. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine later confirmed that it was "Neptune" missiles that struck the "Atlant Aero" plant — a key manufacturer of drones for the Russian army. During those attacks, two production workshops were destroyed and four were damaged. A repeat strike on this plant was carried out on the night of May 13, indicating a systematic nature of attacks on the region's military industry.
