Rescuers evacuated 48 people from a damaged building and pulled two out from under the rubble. In the village of Hryhorivka, debris damaged an infrastructure facility and two apartment buildings, while in the village of Husevka, 11 private houses, a garage, and a passenger car were damaged. The area also saw damage to warehouse facilities and a gas station, with one person injured.
Consequences in Kyiv
The attack also affected the capital itself — according to Ukrainian authorities, five districts of the city were hit. Overnight, as noted in the reports, Russia delivered a precise ballistic strike on a railway depot in Kyiv. According to the State Emergency Service (SES), the attacks on the capital killed eight Kyiv residents, with another seven injured, including three children. A separate strike on the railway depot is recorded, where, according to the report at the time, seven people were killed, six of them employees of Ukrzaliznytsia, while another colleague was hospitalized with injuries.
Odesa Region Under Combined Attack
Oleg Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, reported that the region also came under a massive combined attack overnight. According to him, the strikes damaged civilian infrastructure, and one person was injured. Two residential buildings were damaged, and a fire broke out at a sewing factory. In addition, the international border crossing point "Orlivka" on the border with Romania came under attack; the fire, according to authorities, was extinguished by rescuers.
Contradictory Data
The reports on Kyiv cite two close but not identical figures for the dead: seven people in connection with the ballistic strike on the railway depot, and eight Kyiv residents according to the State Emergency Service's summary of the attacks on the capital. It is unclear whether these groups of casualties fully overlap or refer to different episodes of the overnight strike, so the final toll for Kyiv may be revised. Moreover, some Russian sources describe the same wave of attacks with an emphasis on hitting factories, ports, warehouses, and defense industry facilities, and one of them is dated August 27, 2026, which does not match the date of the overnight strike of September 1 given in the Ukrainian reports. The discrepancies in figures and dates require additional verification.
At the time of writing, official agencies were still refining the list of damaged facilities and the number of victims. Ukrainian authorities urged residents to remain in shelters and follow safety rules amid the ongoing threat of repeated attacks.
