The main session of the National Multidisciplinary Test (NMT) is currently underway in Ukraine. For applicants, this is a crucial stage for university admission, which is why the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, together with the Ukrainian Center for Assessment of Education Quality (UCAEQ), have published updated instructions. Experts have reminded participants which documents are mandatory for entering the examination room, how to act in emergency situations, and when official results can be expected.
Route organization and start time
Test participants are strongly advised to check the address of their temporary examination center (TEC) in advance. Invitations with the exact date, time, and location are already available in the applicants' personal cabinets. Planning the route will help avoid delays, which can be critical.
Special attention should be paid to those taking the NMT abroad. The start time for these participants is indicated according to the local time of the country where the exam is held, not Kyiv time.
Documents for admission and safety rules
To enter the examination center, you must have a valid identity document. Both a paper passport and its digital equivalent in the «Diia» app are accepted. It is also recommended to print or save the NMT certificate and invitation on your device.
If there are discrepancies in personal data in the documents (for example, a name change), the applicant must provide supporting documents explaining these changes.
Admission to the TEC is strictly regulated: it opens 30 minutes before the start and closes 5 minutes before the beginning of the test. Latecomers will not be admitted to the exam.
Bringing unauthorized items into the examination room is prohibited. All unnecessary belongings must be left in a specially designated area. Violation of these rules results in the annulment of results and disqualification from further participation in the NMT.
Action algorithm during air raid alerts
Given the current situation in the country, a clear scenario for action has been established in case of an air raid alert:
- When the siren sounds, the test is automatically paused, and all entered answers are saved by the system.
- After the alert is lifted, participants resume work from the point where they stopped.
- If the total duration of the air raid alert exceeds 2 hours and 30 minutes and the test cannot be completed, applicants will be given the opportunity to take the NMT during an additional session. To do this, a corresponding application must be submitted.
Results and NMT prospects
Immediately after completing the test, participants will see the number of points scored on the screen. However, the official results of the main session will be published in personal cabinets by July 3, 2026. For those who took the test in additional sessions, the result publication deadline is extended to July 29.
The personal cabinet will also provide an information card for the participant and detailed analytics of the results, allowing for the verification of the correctness of specific tasks.
Against the backdrop of the current session, a public discussion continues regarding the future format of the exam. Previously, a group of People's Deputies proposed a bill to reduce the number of mandatory subjects and move mathematics to the category of elective disciplines. However, the Ministry of Education and Science has categorically opposed these initiatives. Minister Oksen Lysivoy emphasized that mathematics is a basic skill and must remain mandatory. The government has already submitted its own bill to parliament, preserving the current NMT format.
