The traditional international Kyokushin karate tournament concluded in the Romanian county of Tulcea. The competition gathered about 300 athletes from 25 clubs in Romania, Ukraine, and Bulgaria. One of the brightest participants of the tournament was the team from Odessa, which demonstrated a high level of preparation and won 12 awards of various merit.

Winners and prize winners

The Ukrainian team, which included 11 Odessa athletes, showed outstanding results. Slava Smirnov became a double winner, rising to the top step of the podium in the kata and kumite disciplines. Gold medals were also won by Viktor Maslanych, Ekaterina Mikhova, and Oleg Gurtovoy.

Silver medals went to Bogdan Novoselchan, Angelina Maslanych, Olesya Rumyantseva, and Andrey Gutsal. Bronze awards were received by Bogdan Novoselchan (in the kata discipline), Maxim Smirnov, and Vlad Mikhov. Special attention deserves Angelina Maslanych, who was awarded a special prize from the organizers "For the will to win".

The successful performance of Odessa karateka at the international level not only added new awards to their collections but also allowed them to represent Ukraine on the world stage. This tournament became an important stage in the development of Kyokushin karate in the region and confirmed the high level of preparation of Ukrainian athletes.
