The world of sports and Ukrainian fencer Olga Kharlan personally received wonderful news: the Olympic champion has become a mother for the first time. The athlete announced the joyful event on her Instagram, posting a touching photo with her newborn's hand. The girl was named Arianna.
In the caption to the photo, Kharlan left tender words: "Arianna 14.06.2026. Mom and Dad love you the most." The joy of new life is shared by the parents — Olga and her fiancé, Italian fencer Luigi Samele.
Family of two Olympic legends
The birth of their daughter became a logical continuation of the story of two outstanding athletes. Olga Kharlan is a multiple world and European champion and an Olympic gold medalist. Her partner, Luigi Samele, is also a fencing legend: his collection includes four Olympic medals, world championship medals, and three European championship titles.
Their relationship began more than two decades ago. They first met in France when Olga was only 15 and Luigi was 18. The Italian immediately noticed the talented Ukrainian and even secretly photographed her for memory.
