Olya Martynovskaya, the former judge of the culinary show "MasterChef," whose name recently became the center of a major scandal, is changing her career trajectory. Instead of working in Ukraine, she has accepted an offer to lead the kitchen in an international project taking place in Spain. The chef will board a premium yacht cruising off the coast of Ibiza.
Gastronomic project in the Mediterranean
Information about the new stage of the chef's career was confirmed by the company Beefmeatandwine on its Instagram account. Olya Martynovskaya will become the head chef of a project called "BEEF Yacht Tour Ibiza." Her duties will include creating menus for guests traveling around the Mediterranean Sea.
During the cruises, the chef will be responsible for organizing breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. The project's menu features Mediterranean cuisine, fresh seafood, grilled meat, and traditional Spanish paella. Organizers emphasize that Martynovskaya will be responsible for the gastronomic concept of the trips and creating a special atmosphere for guests through her signature dishes.
Olya's own reaction
The chef herself has already commented on her decision. In a post on her Instagram page, she quoted the famous Italian chef Massimo Bottura, noting that over the years she has fully realized the meaning of his words: "Cooking is an act of love".
Reasons for the change of activity
The new job in Spain is a consequence of a major scandal that erupted around Martynovskaya following an interview with Masha Efrosinina. During the conversation, the chef shared childhood memories, telling about the cruel treatment of stray animals in which she participated along with other children.
Her words caused a wave of indignation on social media. Animal rights activists and internet users criticized Olya, stating that such confessions cannot be presented without a clear condemnation of violence. Ukrainian brands also joined the discussion: for example, the popular pet food manufacturer Savory announced the termination of cooperation with the chef.
Subsequently, Masha Efrosinina also reacted to the situation. The host stated that she did not expect such a resonance, apologized to those affected by the guest's words, and emphasized the inadmissibility of cruel treatment of animals. Martynovskaya herself also apologized to the audience, noting that she regrets her childhood actions and did not try to justify them.
