On the territory of Belarus, in the Mogilev region, the deployment of the Russian "Orkeshnik" missile system has been recorded at the abandoned Krichev-6 airbase. This is reported by the opposition Belarusian Railway Workers Community, which analyzed data on military transport.
Military Train from the Volgograd Region
According to the investigation, at the end of December 2025, a large military train arrived in the area of the former airbase. The departure was from the Kapustin Yar station in the Volgograd region of the Russian Federation — the location of the range from which "Orkeshnik" missiles were previously launched against the territory of Ukraine.
The sender of the train was the 4th State Central Inter-service Range of the Russian Federation, and the recipient was the Military Communications Department of the Armed Forces of Belarus. The train consisted of 54 flatcars and seven covered wagons. Military equipment was transported on the flatcars, while equipment and ammunition were in the covered wagons.
Equipment Remains in Place
As of May 2026, the equipment continues to be at the facility. No return shipments have been recorded. The military contingent remains on the territory of the airbase, confirming the long-term nature of the deployment.
Satellite Imagery and Intelligence Data
At the end of December 2025, the Reuters agency, relying on the analysis of satellite imagery, also reported the deployment of the "Orkeshnik" complex at the Krichev-6 base. According to intelligence, construction work at the facility began between August 4 and 12 of that year.
History of the Complex's Use
Previously, the occupiers struck the Bila Tserkva district of the Kyiv region with an "Orkeshnik" type missile — the launch was carried out from the Kapustin Yar range. Later, it became known that during the massive attack on May 24, Russian troops launched two new "Orkeshnik" ballistic missiles, but one of them may have malfunctioned and fallen in the occupied Donetsk region.
The deployment of such weapons on the territory of Belarus, especially near the borders with Ukraine, causes serious concern among international observers and security experts. The situation requires further monitoring and analysis by independent sources.
