Assistant to the President of Russia, Nikolai Patrushev, has officially confirmed that the Naval Strategic Nuclear Forces (NSNF) are in a state of full combat readiness. The statement was made during a discussion on the development of the Navy and was published by the RIA Novosti news agency, as cited by RBC-Ukraine.
Protection of National Interests
In his speech, Patrushev emphasized the key role of the fleet in ensuring the country's security. According to him, Russian sailors ensure the protection of Russia's national interests in various areas of the World Ocean. This implies the constant presence and operational readiness of naval task forces to carry out tasks at any point in the global theater of military operations.
Strategic Planning until 2050
Special attention in the report was paid to long-term fleet development planning. Patrushev noted that all potential threats from probable adversaries have already been taken into account in current strategic documents. In particular, two key documents were named:
- Strategy for the Development of the Navy until 2050;
- Project of the Shipbuilding Program until 2050.
According to the President's assistant, these documents form a roadmap for the modernization and construction of new combat units, designed to ensure parity and superiority at sea in the context of a changing geopolitical situation.
