Starting October 27, 2026, Ukraine has expanded the list of Ministry of Internal Affairs service center services that can be paid for online. Citizens now have the opportunity to make payments for taking driver's license exams through a special digital system, eliminating the need to visit bank branches or payment terminals.

How the digital payment system works

The new service allows the service center administrator to generate a payment directly while processing a service for a specific visitor. The system automatically determines the correct requisites, the full list of mandatory payments, and calculates the total amount in strict compliance with the selected procedure. Clients no longer need to manually fill out payment slips or figure out banking codes.

After the invoice is generated, the visitor receives a personal QR-code on the screen or in printed form. It is enough to scan this code using a smartphone camera to make a secure transfer via the mobile application of any convenient bank. An alternative option is also available to use other electronic payment services or pay the bill in the traditional way at a bank cash desk.

Benefits for citizens and time optimization

The introduction of online payment significantly reduces the duration of customer service in Ministry of Internal Affairs units. Visitors no longer need to waste time waiting in lines for bank terminals or cash desks, and then take another ticket and wait to be called by the respective administrator. The process has become completely seamless and integrated into a single workflow.

Once the transaction is completed, information about the receipt of funds is automatically displayed in the service center's internal database in real time. Due to this, citizens no longer need to print paper receipts and present them to the administrator to confirm the fact of payment. All financial transactions are recorded digitally.

Scale of operations and general statistics

According to the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the digital «Payment Hub» demonstrates high demand among the population. As of October 20, 2026, over 440,000 client requests have been successfully processed through this platform. The total amount of payments processed through the system reached nearly 360 million hryvnias.

Recall that previously a similar system was used exclusively for vehicle registration procedures. Now the functionality has been expanded to examination procedures, making the interaction between citizens and state bodies more transparent and comfortable.

Significance of the innovation and future prospects

The expansion of online payment options in MIA service centers marks another milestone in the digitalization of public services in Ukraine. Minimizing cash circulation and eliminating the human factor when calculating requisites increase the overall efficiency of the agency. It is expected that in the future, the range of services available through the digital platform will continue to expand for the convenience of motorists.
